A Small Farm, Making a Big Difference

Welcome to The Lamb’s Quarter!  We’re here to help you find food for the body, mind, and soul.  Please rummage through this site, take a look at the essays, and perhaps meet us at a local farmers market.

The Lamb’s Quarter is a Colonial-era farm located in Calvert County, Maryland.  This 145 acre parcel has been in the Bourne/Gantt family for over 325 years.  Originally a tobacco farm, The Lamb’s Quarter specializes in high quality, sustainably raised meats and eggs, with the occasional vegetable thrown in for good measure.  Our customers count on us to raise animals without the use of antibiotics, steroids, or genetically modified grain.  The animals enjoy a life outside on green grass where our sheep and lambs are 100% grass-fed.

We sell our products year-round at the Old Town Alexandria Farmers Market on Saturday mornings. Please contact us for a listing of other markets we will be at this coming season.
